I have officially died an have gone to electronic musical heaven. With the excitement from Erasure's Tomorrow's World album dissipating a bit after listening to it non-stop since it's October release, and Madonna releasing a new album in the Spring, word on the street is that electronic music Gods Martin Gore (Depeche Mode) and Vince Clarke (Erasure/Yazoo) are working on an album together.
The producing duo will come together for the first time in 30 years as VCMG to release a brand spankin' new album preceeded by a series of EPs.
Says Vince about their collaboration: "I've been getting into and listening to a lot of minimal dance music and I got really intrigued by all the sounds... I realised I needed a collaborator... so it occurred to me to talk to Martin."
Says Gore: "Out of the blue I got an e-mail from Vince just saying, 'I'm interested in making a techno album. Are you interested in collaborating?' This was maybe a year ago. He said, 'No pressure, no deadlines,' so I said, 'OK'."
The album was produced by Clarke/Gore and mixed by Überzone. The untitled album will be out in Spring, 2012 and VCMG will release an EP of remixes called Spock on the Beatport website on November 30 and a physical release will drop on December 12.
