As previously reported, Madonna will be holding her Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project at Roseland Ballroom in New York City on Saturday, November 12 in hopes of finding the dancer that will join her on her 2012 World Tour.
This incredible dance party is part of the Smirnoff Nighlife Exchange Project, an unparalleled cultural exchange where an anticipated 10 million people will get to discover, share and swap the most original nightlife experience in 50 countries.
The dancers, who hail from far and wide places such as Belgium, Japan, Great Britain, The Netherlands, and, of course the U.S. will have a once in a lifetime opportunity to dance in front of the most famous pop superstar in the world. Shay Normann has been chosen as the artistic director and choreographer for the event, and Madonna's long-time choreographers Rich + Tone Talluega will be working with the eleven finalists to shape them up to perform in front of the singer. Madonna has also picked DJ and Producer Martin Solveig, who has been working on Madonna's new album (and the albums rumored first single Give Me All Your Love featuring Nicki Minaj & M.I.A.) to headline the event. Hardy “Indigo” Muanza and Vikter Duplaix will also be spinning custom mixes.
Say what you want about Madonna, but one thing you cannot say is that she's ever strayed from her New York City dance roots. She didn't start out doing one thing and just jumped on a specific genre because she was afraid she wouldn't make it as a pop star. I so want to go to this event, and I'm going to go see if I can get some tickets on the Icon website.
