HIP HOP LEGEND HEAVY D DEAD AT 44

I am sad to report that 90's Hip Hop legend Heavy D has passed away. Heavy D, whose real name was Dwight Arrington Myers was rushed to an L.A. hospital around noon and was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1 PM.

According to TMZ a 911 call was placed from his Beverly Hills home around 11:25 this morning about a man unconscious in his walkway. Reports say he was talking to paramedics and was conscious, but died shortly after once they got him to the hospital.

The last time we saw Heavy D on TV was last month on Law & Order: SVU and at the BET Hip Hop Awards, and can currently be seen in the new movie Tower Heist. Condolensces go out to The Overweight Lover and his family, and as a big fan of Heavy D, I can't believe this news. Another legend from our community gone. So in honor of his passing, I've posted one of my favorite songs of his I used to rap to religiously growing up in the 90's below...
