DEV Feat. FABOLOUS - KISS MY LIPS
I will admit, the first time I heard Dev on Like A G6, I didn't think much of it because it sounded like a girl singing like a robot (which would explain the plethora of other girls currently on Top 40 radio). But when I heard she got a record deal off of that song, I had to throw my head back and laugh, because I felt what could she possibly bring to an entire album? But then again, if Rihanna could make a living sounding like Rosie from The Jetsons nasally sucking through a vacuum cleaner tube, then it's possible for anyone to make it in the faltering manufactured music business. The more I heard Dev lend her vocals to other people's songs, she did win me over as not only a unique individual, but as someone who has become for dance music what Rihanna has become for hip hop. Basically someone who elevates other people's songs to chart success. Dev has put the sing-talking to the side and is actually singing, which is quite refreshing. Oh and the bit with Eminem at the end made me laugh. Check out her new track with Fabolous called Kiss My Lips below...
