One of the most underrated model/singers in the game right now Sky Ferreira has unleashed a brand new Bloodshy & Avant-produced track called Dynamite State, and it is giving me everything I need in a fierce pop track. A hot, marching rhythm, some hand claps, electronic bleeps and burps, children chanting "na na na", and a feroch club vibe that will have you raping the repeat button in no time flat. Sky, who is working on a new album to be released in 2012 recorded the song three years ago and was told by execs that no one would like it, so she said "fuck it" and released it via her Soundcloud page.
Says Sky: "I’m coming out with my debut album next year and a new single early 2012 (Feb. most likely)
Hopefully if that works I can release a dance record also that has all of my old demos & some new ones that are electro pop….
I never want to be restricted to do one “genre” of music.I want to learn & make everything. At the end of the day music is music."
All I have to say is those naysayers couldn't be more wrong about Dynamite State, because it's fucking awesome in every way! What I love about Sky is that she's working to perfect her sound so that she can properly release the perfect pop album we all know she's capable of coming out with. While the industry continues to push Rihanna and boring ass Nicole Scherzinger out into the forefront, I'm most certainly anticipating Sky's new album alongside the 12th release of Madonna.
