X-MEN'S BRYAN SINGER TO DIRECT BATTLESTAR GALACTICA MOVIE

I wasn't even born when they created the original TV series Battlestar Galactica, in the 70's but I did enjoy the 2004 reboot on the Syfy channel. Now there's word that Bryan Singer, director of the first two X Men films and Superman Returns is set to direct the film version of the series which is going to be epic! The film version, which will focus on the 1978 series rather than the reboot will be written by John Orloff.

Says Orloff to Deadline: “I have wanted to write this movie since I was 12 years old, and built a Galactica model from scratch out of balsa wood, cardboard, old model parts and LEDs, I love BSG, and I would pass on the job rather than frak it up.”

I'm actually pretty excited about the movie version of this, and if they can combine the cool action of the Syfy version with the vibe of the 1978 version, it just might turn out to be a really cool movie. I pretty much trust anything bryan Singer puts his stamp on (including the panned Superman Returns), and if they actually include some gay characters on the film version even better. Definitely looking forward to this.
