THOMAS JANE ONCE UPON A TIME WAS A HOMELESS GAY HOOKER
Thomas Jane (who will always be The Punisher to me) may be winning plenty of fans for playing a gigolo on the third season of his hit HBO series Hung, but according to the actor himself, he may actually be pulling from experience. The actor, who also played a bisexual hustler in the movie The Velocity of Gary openly admitted that as a homeless teen living in Los Angeles, he used to turn tricks with men to make ends meet.
Here is what he told the L.A. Times: “When I was a kid out here in L.A., I was homeless. I didn’t have any money and I was living in my car.”
“I wasn’t averse to going down to Santa Monica Boulevard and letting a guy buy me a sandwich. Know what I mean?”
Jane says, “Being a young artist and broke in Los Angeles, I was exploring my sexual identity,” noting that the experience was productive for him in that it “blew the doors off of my conventional upbringing and thinking and opened up possibilities for me.”
Jane says he doesn’t regret his past with men, stating, “Until you’ve tasted the food, you don’t know whether you’ll like it or not, as my mom always said.”
The actor recently divorced his second wife actress Particia Arquette (Medium).
I applaud Thomas Jane for being open about his past, sicne not many actors would be willing to even go there, especially admitting he had ses with men. So many actors have backpeddled on their same sex pasts the minute their careers take off, and someone as established as Thomas Jane being open about his come up is refreshing to hear. In fact, it's made me a fan of him even more.
