SCREENWRITER DUSTIN LANCE BLACK BLASTS GQ WRITER OVER IGNORANT TAYLOR LAUTNER GAY COMMENTS
A few days ago I posted a story about GQ Australia and their ignorant comments to Taylor Lautner asking him if screenwriter Dustin Lance Black and director Joel Schumacher made a pass at him while he was having a dinner meeting with them over the summer.
Said Lautner: “No, definitely not,” replied Lautner. “I think they know I’m straight. But they’re great guys. They’re a lot of fun.”
Well Dustin has taken to his blog to go after GQ for their ridiculously stereotypical question:
“Really Mr. GQ writer? I’m curious, will you be asking all of the handsome actors I’ve ever had the privilege of working with or meeting if I made passes at them as well?” he writes.
He continues, “I’d love to be there when you ask Sean Penn [Black's Milk lead] that same question. Or, Mr. GQ writer, were you projecting your own unprofessional desires onto me and Gus?”
“Above and beyond this clear attack on my character, I’m shocked that GQ would allow their writer to lean on the scurrilous, outdated stereotype that gay men are by nature sexual predators,” he continues. “I mean, would you have asked this same question if it were Diablo Cody and Kathryn Bigelow at dinner with Mr. Lautner?”
Black concludes, “Leaning on lies, myths and stereotypes about gay people is hateful, harmful and outdated. It’s not the 1950s anymore GQ, it’s 2011 and it’s time to grow up.”
I think it was quite appropriate for Dustin to read the GQ writer for points. When you make stupid comments and ask stupid questions you get stupid answers back. I have said it time and time again to these insecure breeders - we homosexuals do not hit on every guy who has a chiseled body and a pretty face that we come across. Some of us have standards and aren't all dickmatized. Speaking for myself I like a guy who is attractive but he's also got to have a personality and can carry a conversation. If I wanted soeone who was hot but had the IQ of a dim light bulb I'd get me a one night stand or better yet I'd just buy me a toy. Common sense would tell you that if an actor is having a meeting with a director and a screenwriter, chances are pretty high that they are talking about working together on a future project.
