We are just three months away from the Super Bowl, and according to SBNation pop icon Madonna will be performing her new single during the 2012 Super Bowl Half Time. The timing couldn't be any more perfect, since Madonna did say while promoting her new movie W.E. that she plans to release the first single from her untitled 12th album in February and the album sometime in the Spring.
Madonna was rumored to perform during half time in 1998 and again in 2000. The first time her team and the Super Bowl team couldn't reach an agreement, and the second time she backed out at the last minute. At this point in her career, Madonna needs to reach as many fans as humanly possible, because in this Gaga world, she really has to step up her marketing scheme. I know M wants to be taken seriously as a performer, but in this micro-brained society in which we live, she doesn't have the luxury of playing it for just the cool kids. Millions of people can be reached during the Super Bowl, and if the Black Eyed Peas can sell their shitty music from their last album to millions of people by performing at last year's Super Bowl, then Madonna can do the same.
