R&B singer Ciara, who has struggled to replicate her musical success since the release of her debut album Goodies, has been keeping a low profile as of late with the exception of a few red carpet appearances. Now comes word that the singer, who was dropped earlier this year from longtime label Jive has just signed a new record deal with Epic Records, which is now being run by X Factor judge L.A. Reid (who recently left his job at Island/Def Jam). Reid sent a tweet hours ago to confirm the news. Now here's the cool part: Reid is giving Ciara fans the opportunity to play A&R on her new album when it's released in Spring 2012. Little is known of the album's creative direction, and Reid is asking fans to come up with a couple of your favorite song you think Ciara should use as reference to which direction she should take for her next album.

In my opinion Ciara is a phenomenal dancer but a passable singer. She is of the musical category of Janet, J Lo and Britney so stick to your strengths which would be midtempo and uptempo tracks and stay away from the ballads. You just need some edgier tracks and work with some up and coming songwriters and producers who are just as hungry as you are and want to see you win. I know they said pick 11, but as someone who has a deep love for music I can't just come up with that short amount so I came up with 20.
