Back in September on the Jonathan Ross show, Adele hinted that she would be recording the James Bond theme, but hasn't officially confirmed it - until now.
According to Contact Music:
"Adele has finished writing her James Bond theme song. The 'Someone Like You' singer is preparing to go into the studio to record the track, which she wrote during a recent week off touring, and will then submit it for the next spy adventure which is currently being filmed...Adele is going into the studio with producer Paul Epworth, who has previously worked with Plan B, Florence and the Machine and Cee Lo Green."
I love Adele's voice and I think she'd be perfect for the new James Bond theme. I would even go as far as to say I could see her as the next Dame Shirley Bassey. I've also been hearing that if Daniel Craig doesn't renew his contract to play James Bond after the film he is currently shooting (Craig originally signed on for three movies), then producers are looking to hire a black actor to play Bond. The person that immediately came to mind to succeed Craig is Idris Elba. I've been a fan of his since the Wire and He's been popping up in a lot of interesting movies, his next flick being the Ridley Scott horror film Prometheus. He's also British which is a plus for the Bond films. I was thinking Boris Kodjoe would be an interesting choice as well, but I don't get edgy from him which is what the Bond films have become. I'm over Denzel's old ass and I'm beyond tired of Will Smith's money hungry ass. I was also thinking if they are looking to revive the Blade franchise, Elba would be perfect for that as well.
