With so many dance artists from the 90's making a comeback on today's music scene (like Aqua, 2Unlimited and more), it should come as no surprise to many that C+C Music Factory would return to the limelight with a brand spankin' new single. After original member David Cole passed away in 1995, C+C Music Factory hung up their dancing shoes and Robert Clivillés went on to do other things inside the music business.
Now Robert has teamed up with house music legend Eric Kupper (who got his start as a keyboarder and guitarist for producers/remixers such as David Morales, Frankie Knuckles, Arthur Baker, and Peter Rauhofer to name a few) to keep the C+C Music Factory spirit alive, and they're on the right track with new single Rain, featuring vocals from Latin singer Scarlett Santana. The single is already #1 on the Billboard Club Play Breakouts Chart, and also features remixes by Mike Rizzo, 4M & DMS, Riddler, Jerome Farley and more. I grew up listening to C+C Music Factory and even remember the whole controversy surrounding the group when they hired a skinny model to stand in for Martha Wash on their song Everybody (Dance Now). Besides that snafu back in the day, I'm glad C+C are back and I'm hoping the success of Rain will bring forth a full-length album. Check out the video for Rain below and get your copy of the track on iTunes
