And the cast just keeps on getting interesting. Joining Milla Jovovich on a new chapter in the Resident Evil franchise are Johann Urb (2012), Oded Fehr (RE: Apocolypse & Extinction) Kevin Durand (Legion, Dark Angel, Lost). Durand (pictured) will be playing a leader of a resistance group who joins forces with Alice to fight Umbrella. Sienna Guillory returns as Jill Valentine and Boris Kodjoe returns as Luther.
So far based on the casting I think Paul W.S. Anderson is going to be diving more into the Umbrella Corporation and based on the fact that Colin Salmon, Fehr, and Michelle Rodriguez are returning (possibly playing in flashback scenes), I feel there's no other direction they could take the series but back to Umbrella. As for Durand, I have no idea who he will be playing, but will definitely keep you posted. Durand in my opinion was the best thing to come out of Legion, playing archangel Michael as a bad-ass. My only question is what has become of Chris and Claire Redfield's characters since they aren't even mentioned as returning cast members? Resident Evil: Extinction begins shooting next month in Vancouver for a September 14, 2012 release.
