It looks like Thor star Chris Hemsworth is about to get some action star competition from his little brother Liam, because according to Total Film he has just nabbed a part in Expendables 2. Liam, who will also star in the film adaptation of the best-selling young adult novel The Hunger Games will join Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Jean Claude Van-Damme, Chuck Norris and Randy Couture in the action sequel that I have a feeling will be more testosterone-fueled than the 2010 film.
There's also word that John Travolta and Nicolas Cage will have bit parts in the sequel, and Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren and Terry Crews will be reprising their roles, but that has yet to be confirmed. Either way I just hope the film won't be so overcrowded with nostalgic, 80's action stars that the script and action will suffer. Expendables is what I would call the Ocean's 11 of the action world, so I can't wait to see what they come up with next.
Expendables 2 will be in theaters on August 17, 2012.
