As you may all know from past blog reports, Akon has been working very hard to turn Jeffree Starr into the next Lady Gaga (another artist he's currently making zillions off of). He's been quietly working on his debut mainstream album with the likes of Akon, Dr. Luke, Brian Kennedy and Ke$ha, and now two new songs from those underground sessions have finally surfaced on YouTube. While we have yet to hear an official single, Jeffree has opted to release a few demos to see if people will take to his new musical direction or throw crickets on his solo career a la Nicole Scherzinger. Prom Night sounds OK, but I know if it's going to get some radio play they will tighten up the lyrics a bit because he sounded as convincing as a rapper as say Madonna a la American Life. I actually think If It Kills Me sounds more like Jeffree. A more electronic rock sound is a perfet fit for Jeffree, so hopefully they will go in that direction for him. I'm sure while the record will be a trashy, sleazy mess (a la Ke$ha), if they send Jeffree out on tour with Lady Gaga he'll get tons of fans.
