A few weeks ago when Chris Nolan was shooting The Dark Knight Rises in Philly, I remember the fan boys were bitching at early photos of Anne Hathaway in her catwoman costume, saying they weren't following the original look from the comics. I went on the record to remind people that they needed to wait before they bitched, because those same people who turned their noses up at the fact that Heath Ledger was playing The Joker are now praising him as the best portrayal of a comic book villain in decades.
Now JustJared has revealed some recent photos of Catwoman's updated costume, and from the looks of it it tips a hat to the sexy look Eartha Kitt wore back in the 60's, which is definitely not a bad thing at all (minus those high high heels). Chris Nolan is all about the origin, and what I'm guessing is the early look was from Selena Kyle's earlier stint as a cat burglar before she comes into her own. So while I'm sure there will be some who will bitch no matter what, I'm more for a film that grounds comic book lore in realism than everyone trying to act like they're auditioning for a stint on Project Runway, because I guarantee those same people who wrote off Heath Ledger will be kissing Anne's ass, calling her performance better than Michelle Pfeiffer's and Halle Berry's nine months from now.
