Last year when DJ Chauncey D interviewed Alex Lauterstein and SIRPAUL for the Whores of Avalon radio show, there was talk about not only their individual music projects, but a joint project they were working on as well. Just in time for the end of summer we've got a new track from the up-and-coming electronic duo called Simulover and their debut single Tourniquet, which also comes with a music video directed by Andreas Anastasis.
Here is what SIRPAUL had to say to EQ about the song:
"I've always felt that repression tends to be the catalyst for most people's fetishes" saysSIRPAUL. "I think we all have aspects of both exhibitionist and voyeuristic characteristics inside of us. I'm not into shame or the negative social stigma that's attached to sexual expression… I'm just fascinated by what gets people off."
I couldn't agree with you more on how people especially in Western culture are quick to turn their nose up at people who wear their sexuality as a badge of honor, but secretly want to be as open as those who are unapologetic about who they are. I think it's time for a sexual revolution, and I mean in the context of men not being so closed off with their emotions. We are always told that men can't be sexual, and I truly feel that attitude needs to change. So while we continue to impatiently wait for the new Dangerous Muse album to finally get an official release, check out Tourniquet (which an EP will be available for purchase on iTunes September 13) below...
