I will go on the record and say that I am a huge fan of So You Think You Can Dance. Been a fan since the first season when they had Lauren Sanchez as the host. I actually am fond of dancing competition shows more than shows like American Idol and The Voice. Now that season 8 has come to an end, on Wednesday Tadd Gadduang performed an awesome Lil C hip hop routine with All-Star Joshua Allen (Step Up 3) to the Ace Hood street anthem Hustle Hard. Also you know I gotta rep my fellow Filipinos. Marko was another favorite of mine, but he's another story. I wanted a little more ice grill in the face as Tadd did the steps, but otherwise great job. Also not afraid to admit I had a bit of a crush on him this season.
While I love Sonja Tayeh's choreography, it would have been nice if the other choreographers were as influential as she was this season because there weren't really a lot of stand-out performances this year. Better luck next year folks, and Nigel please let Lil C choreograph more on the show. Also Mia Michaels and Wade Robson's styles are definitely needed on this show again. Besides Sonja, I wasn't feeling any of these other choreographers. The judges need to remember you can't get artsy fartsy on national TV. People want to be entertained.
P.S. I really wanted Sasha to win, but I'm sure she'll have much more success now that the show is over. Ace Hood's new album Blood, Sweat & Tears (which he definitely put into that album) is in stores now.
