Project Runway has Tim Gunn, The Voice has Xtina, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton, American Idol has Jimmy Iovine, and now The X Factor so far has Mariah Carey. The kooky singer who has long been rumored to be a part of the American version of the hit U.K. competition series has officially been confirmed to mentor contestants from executive producer Simon Cowell's house. I pity the camera men who have to put up with her antics.
The four X Factor judges will pick a celebrity mentor to come to their personal homes and coach their singers. We saw something similar on The Voice, only difference is Xtina and them weren't letting people holler up in their house. So far Mimi is the only mentor that has signed on, with three more to be announced soon. Might I suggest MC Scat Cat as a mentor for Paula Abdul?
In other mentor news, Usher has signed on to mentor singers on the U.K. edition of X Factor. I wonder if he is Kelly Rowland's choice, who recently joined the panel as a judge this season.
