Because they did a bang-up job the first time around. After the disastrous go at the popular 60's TV show with the movie starring Nicole Kidman a few years back, Hollyweird execs feel it's time to have a go at remaking the series once again. Only this time, they want to reboot it again for TV.
According to The Wrap, Marc Lawrence, who wrote the Sandra Bullock comedy Miss Congeniality is writing a treatment for a pilot to possibly be picked up on CBS. So far, classic TV shows that have been rebooted for TV are Hawaii 5-0 (which returns next month for a second season) and ABC's reboot of Charlie's Angels, which makes it's debut next month on ABC.
Personally Bewitched was never a favorite show of mine to watch (I used to watch the reruns on channel 11 long before there was a Nick at Nite) and the only Tabitha Stevens I'm aware of is the notorious porn star who could suck the chrome off a Chevy Impala (I know this because my best friend compares my cock sucking skills to her technique. TMI and I don't care!). As a fan of the classic shows, I was more of a I Dream of Genie fan. Hell I grew up on Charmed, so forgive me for liking a show with a bit more camp with better special effects. Either way how this turns out, I'm sure Endora is currently looking for a Marnie to possess so that she can cut every last person who greenlit this idea in the first place.
