CHER & LADY GAGA DUET TO PREMIERE IN SEPTEMBER

Madonna's not the only icon working on a new dance record. The always unpredictable Cher, who has been quietly working on her new album (her first dance record since Living Proof almost 10 years ago) has just revealed via Twitter that her duet with Lady Gaga called The Greatest Thing will officially premiere on our aural radars in September.

The Greatest Thing will be the lead single from her untitled new album, and the singer even revealed that the album will have "a little bit more real instruments, like guitars and stuff like that" and then "WAY DANCE." If she's releasing the single in September, I'm guessing the album is looking towards a late November release depending on how fans of both Cher and Gaga respond to the finished track (which was a demo for Gaga's The Fame Monster album but left it on the cutting room floor).

If she goes for an old school disco sound on her new album in the vein of Donna Summer and Chic, I think it would be awesome, since Cher did pass through that era (so she would definitely do it justice unlike some of these newbies who do a poor man's interpretation). In case you haven't heard the song yet, check out The Greatest Thing featuring Gaga's vocals below...
