While I am sad that actor Trevor Donovan, who plays hottie gay tennis player Teddy on 90210 will be on the series for a handful of episodes, word on the street is that the blond sex symbol will play Barbie's boyfriend Ken in the live-action film based on the iconic Mattel toy. Now word on who will play Barbie, but I have a feeling Hollywood would go for someone like the Queen of trashy rom-com's Katherine Heigl. Who are they going to get to play at their wedding reception? Aqua?
Anyways, the film is being developed by producer Laurence Mark, who had a hand in the film Dreamgirls. Donovan i think is actually a great choice, although I can't help think maybe they got the idea from his bit part in the Bruce Willis film Surrogates.
This is about to be as interesting as other shitty movies based on old cartoons and childhood toys like the upcoming Battleship movie, the entire Pirates of the Carribean franchise, the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies and the recent god-awful Smurfs flick. Kill me now!
