I caught a glimpse of this film from a still posted in Entertainment Weekly an few weeks ago, and the official trailer is finally arrived after director Soderberg debuted it at Comic Con. In the new actioner Haywire from Soderberg, mixed martial arts (MMA) superstar Gina Carano ("American Gladiators") makes her feature film debut in the January 20 release, starring and performing her own high-adrenaline stunts. The film's cast also includes Channing Tatum, Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender, Antonio Banderas, Bill Paxton, Michael Douglas and Michael Angarano.
In Haywire, an electrifying tale of espionage and betrayal, a female covert ops specialist (Carano), who works in the deadly world of international operatives, strikes back after discovering she's been double-crossed by someone close to her in the agency.
What's awesome about this is that Soderberg says he got the idea for the film from watching Gina fight on TV and built this film around her. With so many awesome female action stars out there such as Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Angelina Jolie, the legendary Cynthia Rothrock and Zoe Bell, Gina Carano fits in quite nicely. Now someone build a franchise starring all the women I just mentioned.
