Action star Vin Diesel, who has been enjoying a serious comeback after the box office success of Fast 5 has signed on to produce and stat in an upcoming action thriller written by screenwriters Oliver Butcher and Steven Cornwell (Unknown).
According to Variety, Diesel's One Race Production company will join forces with the newly formed the Ink Factory to produce the film. Diesel and his production partner Samantha Vincent will produce with the Ink Factory's Simon Cornwell and Rhodri Thomas. Diesel signed on after taking a liking to a pitch from the writers, although the official plot is being kept tightly under wraps. Diesel is expected to have a very busy year when he reunites with David Twohy for a new Riddick movie in September, as well as a starring role in the upcoming action film The Machine (which he will also produce) and in the Fast and The Furious 6 sequel, which is scheduled for a May 2013 release. I like Vin's movies and I'm quite envious that I don't have his career, which means, I need to get into an acting class, hit the gym hard and come for Vin's and Dwayne's action crowns. Now what I would love to see is the director of Fast 5 (who is rumored to be directing the next Terminator film) choose Vin Diesel to go up against Arnold Schwarzenegger in the battle of the robots. Now that would be epic!
