MTV REVEALS LIST OF 2011 VMA NOMINATIONS

MTV has unleashed the nominations for their annual Video Music Awards, and it looks like another lackluster year for artist most of us won't remember who won in 2012. I do love the fact that Adele has multiple nominations for her song Rolling In The Deep but Gaga doesn't have many nominees this time around. Maybe MTV has noticed the Gaga backlash and are trying to play it safe this year with their nominees. The network isn't stupid to notice Adele has one of the biggest albums out right now. Her latest project 21 is the highest-grossing digital downloaded album at the moment, and being that Adele doesn't rely on wearing gowns made of two decade old tampons, it's a breath of fresh air that talent exudes marketing fluff. On the other hand, walking blow up doll Katy Perry received a whopping nine nominations and we all know she can't perform live on stage to save her life. So once again just when you think MTV can get some cool points by nominating standouts like Tyler The Creator, Adele and Bruno Mars, we get Katy Perry.  In my opinion Lady Bunny's version of Firework should have been nominated for Video of The Year, but then again did you expect anything else from a network that hasn't played a music video in 10 years? So far Lil Wayne is the only one confirmed to perform, so being that the VMA's are mostly known for their live performances, I'll be looking forward to that more so than the speeches.
