LADY GAGA ADDRESSES CLAIMS SHE'S USING THE GAY COMMUNITY FOR PROFIT
Before I go into this story I have to say I am very proud of myself for going weeks without talking, blogging, or putting up anything that has to do with Lady Gaga and her entire existence. The reason for breaking this cycle is because this story was too damn good to pass up.
In the past three years of Lady Gaga's meteoric rise from New York City dive bar lounge singer to avant-garde pop superstar, her critics have called her many things. A pretentious fame whore, an community college fashion maven, art thief, a swagger-jacker of Madonna's entire 20+ career and a coke head. But one thing she will not stand for (and I have accused her of this myself) is that she is using the gay community to boost record sales.
The 25-year-old singer, who graces the cover of the August issue of the Advocate says that those who accuse her of using the LGBT community to sell records is just plain "ridiculous."
"My love for my gay fans is just pure, authentic love for them as supporters of me from the beginning, and me feeling connected to their struggles as someone who is a part of their fight," Gaga, who claims to be bisexual tellsThe Advocate.
"We just held each other and cried," Gaga says. "Anyone who says that I'm not genuine is not interested in overcoming this fight. That was such a pure and wonderful moment that we shared, and I remember thinking, 'There's no album sale, no Number 1, that could compete with this moment.' That is what the f**k it's all about. What the f**k it's all about is if I can write one song that could change one person's life."
So there it is. It didn't take her long to give herself credit for writing such a pretentious and uninspired track like Born This Way to say that she had a hand in opening up people's eyes and changing lives within the LGBT community. Honey, you just xeroxed a song Madonna wrote over 20 years ago and changed the words. Also what about the countless transgender people out there who aren't born this way? Many of them feel they're born in the wrong body. So since you say God makes no mistakes, how do you explain that theory?
Gaga has been promoting her new album in Taiwan and took a moment to explain the 2000th meaning behind the title track.
"['Born This Way'] not about just being born in one moment; it's about being reborn over and over again until you find and become that unique and special person inside of you that is the most brave and the most sure and the most ready to take on the world," she says. "And I was born this way. And that's who I am."
"Some people weren't born to wear masks, but I was. I was born to wear masks and wigs and fashion. To express myself through my clothing and my performance art, and that's who I am. And the song is meant to be liberating not only from an individual perspective but from a creative perspective."
It's just hard to believe someone who comes across as extremely calculated in her ways and has gone on record to admit that she has studied the art of fame. It's a no-brainer that many pop singers who have a thousand back-up dancers, 5,000 props and a driving dance beat are the exact ingredients to get the gay community hooked into your satanic hooves. Mainstream labels thrive on their divas hooking themselves up to the gay IV for profit, but won't put the same amount of backing into male openly gay pop singers like Darren Hayes and Sir Ari Gold who do gay pop better than these mediocre singers the majors are trying to shove down our throats (Britney, Katy, RiRi, Ke$hit are you listening?)
I like early Gaga when she was fun, wasn't an all of a sudden religious warrior and didn't take herself too seriously. Now that her new album is filled with filler, she seems to be losing all sense of reality and her true colors are trying to show. I'm sure she's a good ol' catholic girl from new York who just wants to make lots of money with her songs and there's nothing wrong with that. But when you try to pander to me and your psychotic "monsters" hide behind their computers and tweets threatening all those who don't follow your one mind thoughts like Anna from V, is when we have a problem. i can't stand people who talk about of shit but bring nothing unique and creative to the table. if there's anyone she should have studied to have her avant-garde fashions match the simplicity of her dated Euro dance music it's Bjork. But then again she's far too weird for someone as pretentious and shallow as Gaga to get and simplify for her listening audience.
Gaga's feeding off her loyal gay fans for profit isn't the only controversy surrounding the singer. Gags has also been accused of pocketing a portion of the funds made from her "We Pray For Japan" wristbands, that was to help those affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. 1-800-LAW-FIRM, a Michigan-based law firm has filed suit against the singer. I will definitely keep you guys posted on this as it develops.
