While the latest Transformers movie is shattering box office records, rumors are starting to fly on who will replace Shia LaBeouf in the next film. As you may have all heard Michael Bay and LaBeouf have announced that they will not return if there's a fourth installment (you know there will be since the recent film which came out over Fourth of July weekend made a ton of moolah). One of the names kicking around to take over the franchise is none other than British action star Jason Statham. Now of course this is just a rumor, and even though I am a fan of Statham's action films (read: the Transporter flicks, The Expendables and The Bank Job), I have a hard time wrapping my head around him being in the next film. Also a fun fact: Statham's girlfriend Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley played LaBeouf's girlfriend in Transformers 3. As I said before fourth sequel talk is in it's early stages (and where could you possibly take the story?) and maybe they can revamp the entire series and make Statham a Navy Seal or something. Just brainstorming ideas. In the meantime you can catch Statham's new movie Killer Elite with Robert De Niro and Clive Owen out later this year. More on this as it develops.
