I'm sure you've all been paying attention to the recent hip hop tracks 22-year old singer Chris Brown's been releasing as of late such as the 9th Wonder-produced Real Hip Hop Shit #3 & #4. Well apparently ol' boy's been feeling himself because the R&B/pop bad boy is set to unleash a free hip hop mix tape called Boy In Detention very soon.
Breezy made the announcement to his fans via Twatter:
“New(chris brown) hip hop mixtape called ‘Boy In Detention’ coming soon!” he wrote.
The singer has released three rap mix tapes in the past (Fan of a Fan, In My Zone, and In My Zone 2), but says this will be his first full-length rap release.
“And people… Yes I’m a singer so if this mixtape doesn’t reach your quota for hip hop! Simply don’t listen,” he forewarned skeptics.
I don't know about a full hip hop record, and I am all for different ways to express yourself artistically (after all Brandy has a rap alter ego Bran'Nu and Mary J has one named Brook Lynn). But if the mix tape is as hot as his Look At Me Now single, count me in. Just make sure you send two dozen copies to FOX News.
