Okay, I'm ready to shoot someone over at VH1, because someone has clearly stolen my idea. I had a similar idea for a boyband reality show, but mine was to have young groups 18-30, and guys 30+ who are looking for a shot in the spotlight. VH1's idea is more X Factor meets The Voice. But since Glee's group songs are making waves and loads of cash on iTunes, and NKOTBSB has gotten a second chance at life on the road, it's being reported that former *NSYNC member Lance Bass has signed on for a new boyband reality show. Bass told New York Magazine that judges on the show will be from boybands we have all grown up with, such as Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean, *NSYNC'S Joey Fatone, New Kid Joey McIntire, and Bobby Brown from New Edition.
“They’re all going to form a boyband each, from the most talented guys in America that I’ve scouted, and then they’ll go head-to-head in a competition to see who the best band is, so it’s bragging rights for the guy in the group, for sure.”
To be honest I think this is the best time for boybands to make a comeback, since clearly there is a need for them. otherwise, there wouldn't be such a high demand for NKOTBSB to perform on the road. It wouls be awesome if they would take a page out of the K-Pop scene, since they really understand how to not only craft together the perfect pop groups, but they always have a great sense of style, and the music never disappoints. No official word on when it will air, but you best believe I will be watching.
