GRACE JONES TO FINALLY RELEASE HURRICANE ALBUM IN THE U.S.

After years of taking her music to the more appreciative European markets, the queen of all things avant-garde Grace Jones will release her two-year-old album Hurricane in the U.S. on September 6. What shocked me is that Hurricane is her first U.S. release in 22 years, which I now understand why some of my younger friends were shocked to even realize that Grace was a singer, and that her hit Pull Up To The Bumper was not a Patra track. Hurricane, which was produced by Jones and Ivor Guest, and features some band help from Sly & Robbie, Tricky (the trip hop artist not that mess that works with The Dream) and Brian Eno will also include a bonus disc that will feature the entire album as a dub version. I live for all things Grace, and while I'm not rushing for my birthday to get here, I can't wait for this album to cross our shores. Enjoy your one million first week sales Lady Blah Blah because you'll never be this fierce!

Check out the video Corporate Cannibal (sounds like a love letter to all the major label vampires who are more interested in creating million-dollar products instead of creating actual artists) which was directed by Nick Hooker and her Jools Holland performance of another Hurricane track Williams' Blood below...
