While Lady Blah Blah is busy on her grind trying to pass of her brand of bland electro-goth as avent-garde performance art, the original God electro goth sleaze Marilyn Manson is back on the music scene and ready to unleash his eighth album.
Manson posted a 26-second teaser, from his newly revamped website which many believe is his new single Click below to check it out.
The track, titled I Am Among No One, is the first piece of new material to emerge from the shock rocker's eighth studio album. Last year Manson revealed to the cheers of his longtime fans that he is working on the new album with long-time collaborator Twiggy Ramirez.
Former Nine Inch Nails drummer Chris Vrenna has also joined Manson's band after longtime drummer Ginger Fish left to go hit the skins for Rob Zombie, who is also working on a new album.
On Manson's newly revamped website, Marilynmanson.com. The update contains no specific details about the new album but the site has been redesigned to include a logo which reads 'CMYK', which is an acronym for 'Christianity Manufactures Yesterday's Killers'. This suggests that this may be the new LP's title.
It also looks like since the 42-year-old God of Fuck parted ways with longtime label Interscope Records and joined forces with indie label Cooking Vinyl, the creative juices are flowing again and Manson is taking it back to basics of his early work - in the sense of unsing high concepts to tell a story in his music.
The indie label has promised “a big marketing commitment” for the new Manson record, and if they provided the same committment for The Prodigy, I truly believe in their marketing push for Manson (as in using the web to reach fans old and new). As a longtime Manson fan (since Antichrist Superstar), I'm definitely looking forward to hearing what he and Twiggy cook up.
