Madonna showed up last night at the Costume Institute’s ‘Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty’ Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City giving us Greta Garbo old Hollywood realness. The queen of pop stopped to strike a pose in her body hugging Alexander McQueen gown and appeared on the arm of her manager, Guy Oseary (I wonder what's become of her 24-year-old boytoy?) Other starlets who attended were Jennifer Lopez, Salma Hayek, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba, Kristen Stewart, Zoe Saldana, Freida Pinto, Diane Kruger, Renee Zellweger Kanye West and Ryan Seacrest. What I love about Madonna when she channels the glamour girls of the 40's is that she looks more feminine here and seems to have fallen back from overworking out because she looks quite feminine here. As for Beyonce, the voluptuous entertainer sashayed across the the red carpet wearing one of the ugliest gowns I've ever seen (which you would think would have come straight off the House of Diarrhea sales rack but unfortunately, was designed by Pucci).
New York fashion blog The Cut is reporting that Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z, who behave as though they are above every A-list celebrity and are too good to work the red carpet didn't stick around long enough to pose for pictures, which sparked a string of boos from photographers.
“OMG Beyonce and Jay-Z are being BOOED at the #MetGala for not posing for pictures! Yes, boo!” The Cut Tweeted live from the event. “Beyonce’s Pucci dress was so tight she could barely walk up the stairs as she failed to stop for the photographers. After the photogs loudly booed Beyonce for not posing, Solange arrived and they shouted, ‘Don’t shoot her. She can tell her sister.’ And now everyone is cheering for Madonna! #MetGala.”
Maybe reality is finally starting to set in that Beyonce needs to sashay away for a moment and take a break from the spotlight. I don't care if you're shy or not. Every star knows it's mandatory you work the red carpet and give the photographers what they want. It's how bills bills bills are paid. Also, since Bey's all about rehearsal, they should have rehearsed if she could walk up and down stairs in that gown. All I know is Joan Rivers better rip this chick, who is clearly not running the world at the moment a new asshole when Fashion Police airs this Friday on E!.
