About a few hours ago I just finished watching Monday night's episode of Joy Behar (she comes on at 3am so I record her on my DVR and watch her the next day) and I have to say her interview with CNN anchor Don Lemon was the best interview I've seen in a long time. Let me explain.
I say this is the best interview because although we do not have many gay black men in the media, what I love about Joy's interview is that she was very positive on her questions about gays (which she always is), and Don made no excuses about his sexuality like so many do when they're always justifying why they were in the closet or on the down-low. Kudos also for putting into words so beautifully about stereotypes regarding gay men especially men of color who love someone of the same sex especially shutting doen stereotypes of comparisons of homosexuality and being sexually abused. I can tell you for a fact that I was born gay and I was never touched inappropriately. Check out his interview with Joy as he discusses coming out and his new novel Transparent below...
