BEYONCE SLAYS THE COMPETITON, BRITBOT LIP-SYNCS FOR HER LIFE AT THE BILLBOARD AWARDS

So last night the Billboard Awards happened. As expected, no one remembers or gives a flying fuck who won. All we care about is the performances, and there were very few that I actually liked. To no surprise, Rihanna opened the show with an eye-popping version of S&M and I don't know if other blogs leaked the news, but Britney Spears made a surprise appearance lip-synching her cut-and-pasted part on the S&M remix. Britney also performed a second time, semi-closing the show with Nicki Minaj, who did Super Bass and went into the remix of Till The World Ends. Britney seemed out of place in both performances. Yes she is in the best shape since her Slave 4 U days, but as the Femme Fatale tour approaches, don't be upset if you paid $250.00 a ticket and Britbot can't convincingly pull off a pillow fight. Ke$ha slayed with her glitterfied performance of Blow, Cee-Lo aka the Black Liberace shocked the hell out of me with his intimate performance of Crazy, Bright Lights Bigger City, and Forget You where at one point his piano levitated in the air and spun 360 degrees with him still attached to it. You know Lady Gaga is firing someone in her camp for not coming up with that idea first. Mary J. Blige kept it old school with her performance of her new single Smeone To Love Me (Naked) with Lil Wayne, but she felt so out of place on stage with all the crazy shenenigans her less talented pop peers brought throughout the competition.

The biggest performance of the night was of course Beyonce. After all, she was honored with the Millinnium  Award and alot was riding on her performance. Run The World (Girls) may be underperforming on the charts, but Bey made sure she had the most unforgettable performance of the night. Bey slayed the competition and clearly showed the haters why she's such an icon before the age of 30.

Her mother Tina and her nephew Jules presented her with the award, and what I loved the most about Bey's thank you speech was that, as expected she thanked her "best friend" Jay Z, her family and Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. But what may have shocked everyone was she thanked original members LaTavia Robertson and Letoya Luckett. The only thing that seemed a bit sad was that Beyonce's best friend is the people in her camp. When Rihanna gave her thank you speech, she actually thanked her real friends. All Bey's friends are in the business. It goes to show with sacrifice for your dreams comes any kind of normalcy. Anyways, check out my favorite performances in the night. Other than Bey's performance, everyone else was lackluster. Rihanna I'm pretty much done with as far as her lazy, pitchy performances.
