It was bound to happen sooner or later. According to Lynette Rice over at EW, ABC brought the ax down on a number of shows, including Brothers & Sisters, V, No Ordinary Family, Detroit 1-8-7, Off the Map and Matthew Perry's shitcom Mr. Sunshine. While Brothers & Sisters was a staple at the network, it has suffered a strong decline in ratings over the past few seasons. As for V, No Ordinary Family, Detroit 1-8-7 all three shows never seemed to gain strong ratings, although the storylines did get better as episodes went on.
I was really hoping out of all the shows V would at least make it another season like another sci-fi favorite of mine Fringe over on FOX, but I guess the fanbase aren't as strong as the fans of Fringe and Chuck over at NBC (another show I love). That season finale alone was worthy of another season. But at least they went out with a bang instead of a whimper.
But don't cry for the Walkers Argentina - it seems the actors over on the show, which launched back in 2006 were ready to move on. Matthew Rhys told EW in January that ”we’ve run a lot of extreme stories and big stories, so I personally wouldn’t want to be a writer if I had to stretch it another season.” Brothers and Sisters already aired its finale a week ago.
I had stopped watching Brothers & Sisters around the time the new season of Celebrity Apprentice started airing (I watched it for NeNe, La Toya Jackson and Star - not that asshole Donald Trump) and I had realized that when I went back to pay an overnight visit to the Walkers, I had made the right decision to abandn ship. Not only were they downright annoying with all the constant bickering and ridiculous comedic moments, but clearly they had run out of ideas. ABC made the right decision to cancel it. Now put Charlie's Angels on after Desperate Housewives because clearly that would be a great sunday night match up.
