Say what you want about our current state of media applauding bad behavior and idiocy with endoursement deals and pay raises, while hard working people and organizations like Planned Parenthood, healthcare, common sense and our dwindling edumacational system continue to go down the tubes, but it looks like the trend of negativity and infamy sells is not going away anytime soon. After weeks of holding out, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Jersey Shore's top ratings grabbers (most noteably The Situation, Snooki, JWOWW and Pauly D) will each nab $ 100,000 an episode with no bonuses when they shoot the fourth season of the popular MTV reality show in Italy next month. A season of JS is usually 13 episodes, so with that coin as well as their endoursement deals, club and college appearances and the forthcoming spin-offs from Pauly D, Snooki & JWOWW, these kids are going to be rolling in the dough (there's a song for you to come up with Adele). As for those other bottom feeders (like Vinny, Deena, Sammi and Ronnie) no one knows how much they will get. The cast initially received $10, 000 an episode (with our top four high rollers bringing in $30,000 an episode).
I'm sure there are alot of people cringing at the amount of money these kids are making, but you know what? JS is one of the biggest reality shows on MTV and people can't get enough of their drunken and sexual debauchery. I say if MTV can make so much off of them in advertisements, why can't reality stars do the same and ask for a raise? If I were in the same position I would do the same. Not only would I rank in the dough by hustling therough the entertainment industry, but i would also use the money I would make to put into my small business/production company. That's if the gay reality show Under The Boardwalk gets picked up and I am chosen to be apart of the cast.
