While Facebook and the gay blogosphere was set ablaze over the recent gay bashing of Damian Furtch outside a McDonald's in NYC's West Village, and the recently leaked survaillance tape of the attack, we finally have a break in the case. Late last night in Brooklyn, the police arrested a 21-year-old homeless man, Anthony Bray, who confessed to beating Furtch. But get this - Bray told police that he should not be charged with a hate crime because he too is gay.
"Anthony Bray, collared in Bushwick, Brooklyn, confessed to attacking Damian Furtch outside a McDonald's on W. Third St. - but insisted it wasn't a bias attack because he is also gay. Bray told cops he pummeled Furtch, 26, 'because he was disrespectful to him,' sources said. Bray, who has prior arrests for marijuana possession, graffiti and robbery, was charged with misdemeanor assault. Cops said they haven't ruled out the possibility of hitting Bray with hate crime charges."
Damian since we are buds on Facebook, now would be a good time to go into further detail on what happened. Furtch did say he was coming home late from work and stopped in Mickey D's to get a late bite when the attack occurred. I hope since Bray confessed that all will soon be resolved and we can get to the bottom of this situation. I also hope what happened to Damian will open up some much-needed dialogue on the fact that we do have alot of self-hating faggots who feel if they beat the gay away in others, it will help suppress their feelings just a tad bit longer.
