Word on the street is that Goldfrapp (aka Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory) is working on their sixth album.
Here is what Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory recently told BBC6 Music: “I am ready to do it now, to get back to Goldfrapp will be a very refreshing change. We have tried sitting down and writing lists and having coffee to talk about it, but usually we just mess about, it’s good not to be too conscious about what you do.”
While the thought did cross their mind to use music left on the cutting room floor from their last album Head First, they have come to a mutual decision of starting from scratch. “We have, as usual, lots of stuff in the bottom drawer which we rejected the first time round, but I expect we’ll want to start a fresh this time round,” will explained.
As you may (or may not know) the duo are currently without a label after Head First received mixed reviews and a commercial flop. I just hope we can get some of the fun edginess of Black Cherry and Supernature because as of late they've become a bit too ethereal for my taste.
