FORMER IDOL JUDGE'S REALITY SHOW GETS A PREMIERE DATE
It's pretty much old news by now, but former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi will premiere her new songwriting competition TV series Platinum Hit on May 30 at 10 PM on Bravo.
Unlike the plethora of other singing shows that are or will be polluting our screens, Platinum Hit is searching for the industry’s next big songwriter. 12 aspiring musicians will compete in themed songwriting challenges, overseen by head judge DioGuardi and co-judge, RCA/Jive A&R VP Keith Naftaly, and hosted by singer-songwriter Jewel. The winner will take home $100,000, a publishing deal with Sony, and a record deal with RCA/Jive.
Special guest judges scheduled to appear are Leona Lewis, Natasha Bedingfield, Jermaine Dupri, Donna Summer, Taio Cruz, and Ryan Tedder.
Not sure if this show will be a hit since Kara is a straight up bore to me personality-wise (remember Paula Abdul's horrible show Got To Dance), but since I love music I will check out the series for curiousity purposes.
