It seems Christina Aguilera just can't seem to get a break musically, since she is currently in the same boat as Mariah Carey. Let me explain. Like Carey, Xtina was supposed to release a remix album of tracks from her poor-selling album Bionic, but, like Carey's Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel remix CD by Jump Smokers, Xtina's label decided to scrap the album altogether. Thank the lord Reuben Wu (of Ladytron) remix of Christina’s Bionic bonus track “Birds of Prey” has leaked online because I fucking love it! While I wasn't too thrilled with alot of the songs on Bionic, Birds of Prey was one of the standout tracks I was fond of. I hope for her next album she gets back to basics (no pun intended) and gives us not only some fierce tracks we know she's capable of giving, but that she leaves the experimental electro to people who do it better like Roisin Murphy, Lykke Li, Goldfrapp and Kylie. I also hope that since the album will never see the light of day that we will get to hear all the tracks that were remixed by some of today’s biggest electronic/dance music producers such as Bimbo Jones, Ralphi Rosario & Ladytron.
