ANNIE LENNOX CONSIDERS RETIRING FROM TOURING

I'm really hoping and praying that this doesn't come to light, but Annie Lennox, singer from Eurythmics and one of the most creative and innovative solo artists of my lifetime (Diva is still one of my all-time favorite albums) is considering retiring from touring.

“I doubt that I’ll ever tour again because quite honestly…it just wears me out mentally and physically, and my back and left foot are rubbish,” Annie explains on her official site.

“I think I spent enough time waiting in cars, hotel rooms and dressing rooms for Godot to actually make a personal appearance,” she writes. “In the future performers will tour by hologram on a regular basis…undoubtedly.”

I have never had the pleasure of seeing her perform live, and this is a real bummer for me. I am happy that I got to witness Madonna and Kylie perform on stage, and Annie would have most certainly been the icing on the cake. But if touring is effecting your health, than that's the most important thing. I'll just live vicariously through old DVD's of your work. As for the hologram point, with Britney's recent live performances, what makes you think that's not happening already?
