FINANCIAL DRAMA FOR WORLD WAR Z MOVIE?

Vulture is reporting that the film adaptation of Max Brook's epic novel World War Z is having a bit of financial trouble. WWZ, which is huge in scope and is one of the grittiest zombie novels I've read in a long time is having trouble financially because Paramount is claiming they don't have the money to greenlight a film of this magnitude. What did they do blow all their money on Mission Impossible 4?

Vulture says Paramount is looking for outside investors to foot some of the $125 million budget. There are a few potential investors on the table, but as of now no one concrete. Being that we are in a recession and Hollywood has been on this safe remake and sequel kick, the industry is a bit sketchy about putting so much money behind big budget horror-themed films, and it's easier to put your money behind low budget horror films because it's likely they'll recoup the money through limited theatrical release, VOD and DVD sales.

Also since Brad Pitt is starring in World War Z, I would think the suits would be less hesitant. But if no one coughs up some much-needed cash WWZ may never see the light of day and we'll be stuck watching lesser budgeted bad zombie flicks with lack of plot and character development.
I'm also hearing that Quantum of Solace director Marc Forster has no problem releasing WWZ as PG-13 to reach more moviegoers, which you know would piss off alot of horror fanboys and girls. It's been a long time since we've gotten a really good zombie horror film (Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead), so I say go for a hard R or I'll just stick with real quality zombie horror like The Walking Dead.
