TOMB RAIDER REBOOT IN THE WORKS

Even though the franchise hasn't been out long, GK Films has required the rights and will reboot the Tomb Raider movies in time for a 2013 release. Produced by Graham King and Tim Headington, the films will create daring new adventures for the young and dynamic archaeologist Lara Croft.

GK Films acquired the film rights from interactive entertainment company, Square Enix Ltd. In December 2010, Square Enix subsidiary, Crystal Dynamics, revealed a new game for Tomb Raider based around the origins of the Lara Croft story.

"We are very excited to be rebooting what is already a hugely successful film franchise and continuing the 'Tomb Raider' phenomenon," said King.

The first two films through Paramount, which starred Angelina Jolie, grossed a total of $432 million at the worldwide box office. Now word if Angelina (who did a phenomenal job) will reprise the role, but if not might I suggest Rhona Mitra. She's not only English, but she can do action pretty well from what we've seen from her roles in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans and Doomsday, and she was also the initial model for the TR videogames. Ange would be good in the reboot as well, but I'm just hoping they get better writers to craft out a great plot.
