R.I.P. LOLEATTA HOLLOWAY

Soul and Disco legend Loleatta Holloway has gone off to the talented vocal paradise in the sky. The singer passed away yesterday night following a brief illness. She was 64 years old. Her death was confirmed by her manager, Ron Richardson.

Holloway was a huge pioneer of 70's disco and R&B, and turned many a club out with her uplifting hits like "Dreaming", "Hit and Run" and "Love Sensation, which was sampled by both Marky Mark for his 90's hit Good Vibrations and Black Box's Ride On Time, though they neglected to give Holloway credit. Holloway later sued the band and won. Holloway was recently sampled again when Swizz Beatz and wife Alicia Keys sampled her song "We're Getting Stronger" for Whitney Houston's "Million Dollar Bill".

R.I.P. Loleatta. Your contributions to the industry will be missed.
