RICKY MARTIN & JENNIFER HUDSON's TARGET DEALS SPARK CONTROVERSY
While Lady Gaga is receiving some backlash due from her now-defunct deal with Target based on their anti-gay political beliefs (and a tongue lashing from bitchy gays), it seems Ricky Martin and Jennifer Hudson could care less as long as they get whatever coin they can get out of the family chain.
It's being reported that the two singers have deals with Target to not only release special editions of their albums Música + Alma + Sexo (which came out in January) and I Remember Me (which came out yesterday), but to also perform at private events (Ricky recently performed at a Target event in New York City in February).
I also looked to a few of the blogs and quite a few were asking the following question: Why is it that the queens got their tits in a twist when it came to Gaga's deal with Target, but no one is crying foul over Ricky and JHud? Well I'll tell you why. Gaga is notorious for being a panderer. She's put herself on this platform to become the fairy gaymother who comes down from her giant egg to save all us poor, unfortunate faggots from the big bad straights. Jennifer Hudson has always been and always will be a singer. Music is her career and you've never seen her wearing crazy clothes or doing whatever she can to get her name in the paper infamously. She's a God-fearing woman who just wants to sing and take care of her family.
As for Ricky, the best bet with him is ask him as a gay man why did he sign a deal with Target especially when they are writing checks to anti-gay polititians? I never knew he had a political stance on anything until he sat down with Oprah to promote his book last year.
Ricky to me has always seemed like he was more interested in making sure he was financially secure before he came out with his pitchfork to hit the streets alongside ACT UP. Maybe he signed his John Hancock before target's T was revealed. We won't know until someone asks the question. What do you guys think?
