After Christian Dior fired creative director John Galliano for anti-Semitic remarks he made to a couple at a bar in Paris which was caught on tape. Academy-award winning actress Portman, who is the face of Miss Dior Cherie perfume and is of Jewish descent blasted Galliano, who has been running the fashion house since 2006.
“I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments that surfaced today. In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way. I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful.”
Careful with all that fire and venom you shout Natalie. We don't want you going into labor too early.
Here is what Christian Dior Chief Executive Sidney Toledano had to say in a statement following Galliano’s firing: ”I very firmly condemn what was said by John Galliano, which totally contradicts the values which have always been defended by Christian Dior.”
I know Galliano is kicking himself because his fabulously outrageous designs won't be apart of Paris Fashion Week, but your career ain't dead like Mel Gibson's so you have a chance to redeem yourself.
