Director Len Wiseman, who I'm a bit upset for not directing the fourth Underworld movie with wife Kate Beckingsale to do the upcoming Total Recall remake with Colin Farrell is now in the throes of filling the female roles in the film.
Deadline is reporting that Kate Bosworth, Diane Kruger and Eva Mendes are in talks to play the Lori role (played in the 1990 original by Sharon Stone) and Paula Patton, Jessica Biel and Eva Green are in talks for the role of Melina (played by the fiery Rachel Ticotin).
The movie, based on the Phillip K. Dick short story We Can Remember It For You Wholesale, Arnold Schwarzenegger plays Douglas Quaid, a man who, after buying implanted memories of a vacation to Mars, begins to remember experiences tied to an elaborate conspiracy.
The remake does not have an official release date, but I hear the studio producing the film is currently eyeing an August 3, 2012 release.
I think Len is a great director so I know Total Recall is in great hands. But if I could play casting director for a second, my choices to play Lori would be Diane Kruger and the role of Melina should go to Paula Patton. Patton has a role in the fourth Mission: Impossible film so I know she can hold her own in an action sequence. As for Eva Mendes, Len should cast her as the hooker with three tits.
