Adrienne Bailon, mostly known for her brief stint in that cricket girl group 3LW and managed to become more popular in that manufactured Disney group The Cheetah Girls, wants to make the transition from failed pop star to talk show host.
“We’re in talks about a possible talk show,” reveals the 27-year-old, who co-hosted “Maury’s Most Talented Kids” last year with Maury Povich. “[Producers] approached me actually. That’s where the whole Maury thing came up. People are like, ‘Why is she doing stuff with Maury Povich?’ But this is why. I wanna be like Oprah.”
Besides the Maury stuff, Adrienne has done some reporting for MTV, so she's definitely no stranger to the interview process. “Talk shows were the original reality TV,” she says. “And I’d love to have real talk with real people. I am a very nosy person. I’m very curious about people’s lives, so I think that will make it interesting.”
Adrienne is recording her first solo album for Island/Def Jam (is there any room for two latin pop singers, with JLo sitting comfortably on top of her throne with the success of On The Floor) and will appear on that dreadful E! series Kourtney & Kim Take New York. As you may (or may not) give a shit, Adrienne used to date Kim and Kourt's brother Rob.
Sorry boo, but there can only be one Oprah. Lord knows you're not a negro woman from the south so that would be hard to pull off. If you are willing to put in the hard work and determination that Oprah has put in for the past 25 years, I'm sure you will do well. But if you aim to be someone of that magnitude, those are some really big shoes to fill. Tyrannosaurus Banks tried to be the next Oprah and we all know what became of her crazy ass.
