LADY GAGA STRIKES DEAL TO RELEASE BORN THIS WAY IN TARGET CHAINS
Lady Gaga continues her domination as the fairy godmother of all the gays as she makes her next movement in securing their loyalty as brainless supporters of her music. There's been a bit of controversy surrounding Target as of late with their support of anti-gay organizations. But Gaga, who has struck a deal with the retail chain regarding the release of her forthcoming album Born This Way has put her foot down (or her paws up - as she would say) before signing her firstborn child away (which is currently hibernating somewhere in a faberge egg).
Gaga's distribution deal with Target requires the company to support LGBT charity groups and reform its past support for antigay causes. Since last summer, the Minnesota-based retailer has been under fire, including a high-profile boycott and tarnished rating in the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index, for a $150,000 donation to MN Forward, a group that backed failed Republican gubernatorial candidate and marriage equality opponent Tom Emmer.
"That discussion was one of the most intense conversations I've ever had in a business meeting,” the pop star told Billboard magazine, assuring fans her deal with Target was “hinged upon their reform.”
Only time will tell if Target will change it's ways, and I'm sure the $150,000 they had to shell out really hurt their pockets. So what they had to write a big check to shut up some damn gay organization. What does that mean regarding gay issues and family-friendly chains such as Target? For all we know they could still be doing backroom deals with anti-gay congressmen (or women). They'll just learn to keep their secret affairs a bit more discreet. I hope Gaga's "monsters" will ask these questions, and not just dwell on the obvious - which would be how easy it will be for some closeted queen to get their paws on the new album at their closest Target retail chain.
