KE$HA TALKS GET $LEAZY TOUR AND WRITING FOR BRITNEY SPEARS
Ke$ha, who in my opinion os one of the most underrated pop artists out right now (love her infectuous hooks and silly Beastie Boys-esque rhymes) opened up to Spin about what we can expect from her sold-out Get $leazy tour which kicks off on Tuesday in Portland.
"I'm going to bring the planet an epic dance party," the pop star tells SPIN from her home in Nashville. "That's my mentality with this tour — party as hard as we can and make it as infectious as possible. It's unlike anything anyone else in pop music is doing."
Speaking of the Beastie Boys, Ke$ha says she will not only perform track from her Animal/Cannibal CD's, but she will also perform a few rock covers, such as their hit "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party)."
"I've been on this Iggy Pop kick — he's just so inspiring to watch as a performer," she says. "I'm trying to do something like that, minus the heroin and the stabbing myself part."
The singer also wanted to point out that although the Grammy's and many people still don't respect her as a true pop musician, she says expect not only a DIY aesthetic and a kick-ass light show, but also be on the look out for her playing plenty of instruments, including synthesizers, guitars, keytars — and a theremin: "I'm a fucking theremin master. I've been playing it for six months but only now have I felt ready to showcase to the world my theremin skills." I'd like to see her battle Alison Goldfrapp with their theremin playing.
Once the tour wraps, Ke$ha says she will begin work on the follow-up to Cannibal. She also co-wrote a new Britney Spears track titled "Till the World Ends" with executive producers Dr. Luke and Max Martin, which is set to appear on Spears' next record Femme Fatale. "That song is me imagining her and any female musician touring the world," she says. "You know, when you got out, and you're having an amazing, magical night and you don't want to go to sleep and you want it to last until the world ends."
I love Ke$ha and can't wait to hear her collabo with Britney. Check out her tour dates below...
